Sunoco has been a customer of RightShip’s hosted online vetting system solution since August 2004. Sunoco imports its entire waterborne diet of crude oil in vessels from its suppliers, primarily in West Africa, and ships significant volumes of finished petroleum and petrochemical products to customers by vessel and barge.
Harold Mathues said that Sunoco wanted an alternative to the time-consuming and expensive task of keeping their custom vetting system up to date. A RightShip hosted online system, tailored to their specific requirements, was the best commercial alternative. It was online within a few months of Sunoco deciding on this solution, and vets about 1000 vessels and barges a year.
